Automatic Eyelet Buttonholers Series 558, 559 and 580

With its sewing kinematics combined with well prooven CNC step

motor technology the 559 achieves a perfect stitch pattern quality with

shortest cycle times. The electronically controlled thread tension guar-

antees perfect buttonholes and accurate repetition when changing

different sewing threads and materials. An easy to use control panel

allows the quick programming of all buttonhole parameters required.

This brochure has been carefully prepared to provide you with comprehensive information on the

highly differentiable Dürkopp Adler automatic eyelet buttonholers. The spectrum of three main

classes and seven subclasses allows the processing of all kinds of buttonholes and application

methods for all materials – from the basic mechanical to the most sophisticated, fully electronical

version for ultimate demands.

On the inside of this brochure you will find information on the respective technical features and

equipment variants of the automates as well as our recommendations on possible applications.

We inform you about required sewing equipment, supplementary kits for optimizing the auto-

mates, positioning aids and further optional extras. On the exterior you will find examples of but-

tonhole applications as well as illustrations of the most important optional equipment.

The mechanically controlled automate 558 is driven by a three-

phase A/C motor and requires no compressed air. The machine is

fitted with an upper gimp guide and a trimming system for the

needle thread.

State-of-the-art technology and decades of experience have

been united in the automatic buttonholer 580 PREMIUM.

Beyond the functions and features of the 559 the 580 dispo-

ses of a wide spectrum of efficiency-enhancing additional

functions and options.

An integrated sewing light enables a shadow-free illumination

of the sewing area; the standard needle thread catcher (optio-

nal for 580-151) ensures a safe sewing start and eliminates

subsequent trimming of threads. The control panel is fitted

with a large display with graphical user’s guidance for easy

programming.

The automatic cutting force adjustment ensures maximum

lifetime of the buttonhole knives. The choice of four subclas-

ses offers optimal performance and quality for any kind of

application.

Moreover, three variants of

580 MULTIFLEX are available for

sewing buttonholes of different shapes and lengths without

time-consuming change of knife and cutting block.

With the 580 MULTIFLEX the selection of two different but-

tonhole knives together with the appropriate positioning of

the topmounted cutting block facilitates virtually any length

and any shape in any conceivable combination. Different

lengths are automatically performed by single or multiple

cuts.

The buttonholes programmed by the operator are sewn

sequentially; the respective cutting lengths and shapes are

coordinated fully automatically.

The optional light barrier attachment recognises the sewing

position fully automatically and activates the correct buttonho-

le program (e.g. edge buttonhole or lapel buttonhole). This

means maximum efficiency even for short runs and reduction

of production equipment.
